Jennifer Blakeman
Jennifer was born in Falmouth and raised in Mashpee, MA as an outdoorsy/artsy free range child of the 80s. She pursued a Master’s of Science degree in the Pathologists’ Assistant program in Philadelphia. Always enjoying the outdoors, Jennifer got into running in grad school and after when moving back to Boston. She started out with local 5Ks and soon joined the Dashing Whippets in late 2015. Jennifer soon fell in love with long distance running and the endorphins it provides. She has only placed 1st in her age category once for Newburyport Half marathon 2022. She resides in Somerville and is in pursuit of doing the marathon majors as well as more scenic marathons/ ultras.
Adam Forkner
Adam co-founded the Boston chapter with David in 2015. Adam grew up in Milton and attended Trinity College, where he was captain of the cross country team and teammate of DWRT co-founder Matt Wong. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and worked as a lawyer and advisor for the Deval Patrick administration. He has also served as a volunteer assistant track coach at the Epiphany School in Dorchester. While most of his racing experience is in shorter distances (28:06 8K XC, 35:38 10K), Adam is excited about a foray into the half and full marathons. He lives in the Back Bay with his wife and two sons.
Andrew Kuo
Andrew Kuo was born and raised in Taiwan and is pursuing a scientific career as a postdoctoral research fellow in Boston. Having never considered himself an athlete, Andrew experienced the magic of running when his friend lured him into a half marathon race in 2018. He soon realized that running could be a “team sport” after finishing his first track workout with the Whippets at the MIT track. Andrew’s passion for distance running flourished after experiencing the endorphin high from running a marathon. He is currently on his journey of chasing a sub-3 hour marathon with support from the Whippets. Andrew can be easily spotted on the Esplanade doing his favorite tempo run or walking his furry-significant-other, Bacchus
Cori Nawn
Cori joined the Whippets upon returning to Boston to work as a strategy consultant after spending time in Texas working for Military Medical Research and getting her PhD in biomedical engineering. Having grown up in a marathoning family, Cori has been a lifelong athlete and has deep roots with the Boston Marathon, in particular. She began marathoning, herself, during graduate school and found her greatest love for trail ultramarathons – placing 2nd in her first 50K and recently winning Stone Cat 50K. Cori lives in Kenmore Square and enjoys the beautiful sunrises in the City on her early morning runs, as well as getting out of the city on weekends for trail time!
David Parkinson
David was a member of the DWRT leadership team in New York and relocated to Boston in September of 2015. An attorney, he is also an RRCA-certified coach and has run more than 25 marathons, including 10 Boston Marathons. He lives in Charlestown with his wife, two sons, and two rambunctious dogs who keep him running, even on rest days.
Marguerite Salamone
Marguerite joined the Dashing Whippets in January of 2021 looking for an activity and community to replace her athletic career as a collegiate field hockey player once she graduated from Tufts University in 2020. With the help of the Whippets Marguerite completed her first marathon, running in the 2021 Boston Marathon, and hasn’t stopped since! To date she has completed 4 marathons and hopes to continue running more with the support of the Whippets! She says the Whippets Saturday runs are the best part of her week because of the energy and comradery she gains from her fellow Whippets! She lives in Allston, MA right on the Charles and you can often find her enjoying a morning/evening run on the esplanade!
Bill Sterritt
Looking for consistency in his winter training, Bill joined the Whippets in January 2016. Growing up in western Massachusetts he swam competitively and ran cross country to keep busy in the off season. Now living in Watertown, he still comes into the city for the weekend runs and enjoys doing races with his teammates. From 5ks on the roads to 50 mile trail races, Bill’s up for any distance on any surface – maybe even a triathlon too.
Matthew Wong
Matt co-founded the NYC chapter of the Dashing Whippets in May 2009. Matt grew up in Connecticut and graduated with a BA in Economics at Trinity College in Hartford, CT in 2000 and an MPA from the University of Connecticut in 2006. Matt has been running since joining his high school cross country team his sophomore year. He then had an admittedly mediocre cross country and track career at Trinity. Since being with the team, Matt has completed 3 marathons with a 2:57:24 PR at the 2013 Boston Marathon and many other races, including a 4:48 mile at the 2015 Fifth Avenue Mile and a 1:18:40 half marathon in the 2016 NYC Half Marathon. Matt lives in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn with his wife and twin daughters.
